Africa Liberation Day (ALD) has been celebrated worldwide since 1963. The official day is may 25 and was designed as such by the Liberation Committee at the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in 1963. ALD is an occasion when African people worldwide focus on the fight for total liberation and self determination.
